Highland's Happy Hands
The Highland Happy Hands are the Deaf and Hard of Hearing program at Highland Elementary. We use American Sign Language to communicate with each other and work on speech and listening skills. There are students of all levels of hearing who attend Highland. We love teaching others to sign and helping each other. We are a Happy Hands signing community.

Christmas Story
Tuesday, November 22, 2011
Signing with Santa was a huge success! Kids and adults alike had so much fun skating, eating pizza, socializing with each other and most of all getting to visit with Santa. Here are the Deaf Ed teachers from Barren Co., Warren Co. and Glasgow talking with Santa. Our wish lists are long... so Santa we hope you can come through for us! :)
It was a great way to kick-off the Christmas season. Thank you WKU-ASLO!

Regional Deaf Spelling Bee
There will be a Regional Deaf Spelling Bee for all Hard of Hearing and Deaf students, on December 8th in Bowling Green. Our 3rd grade and 6th grade students will be representing our district in the spelling competition. We have already begun to study and practice for the bee. The students are excited about spelling and about seeing other Deaf and Hard of hearing students.
